Laboratory facility
Every batch is tested before it reaches you
The Ichiban laboratory tests raw materials, new formulas and finished products for Ichiban Paint and Ichiban Ink. Colour, viscosity, adhesion, hardness and weather resistance are checked with measuring instruments, not guesswork.

Inside the lab
Tests that simulate real conditions

Accelerated weathering (QUV)
Paint panels go through repeated UV and condensation cycles to show changes in colour, gloss and chalking, like years under the sun.

Salt spray test
Panels are exposed to continuous salt fog to measure the rust resistance of anti-corrosion paint, marine paint and industrial coatings.

Gloss measurement
A gloss meter keeps the gloss level (matt, semi-gloss, gloss) the same in every batch.

Test panel preparation
A film applicator lays down a coat of even thickness, so test results can be compared against the standard.

Controlled filling
Once a batch passes QC, it is filled by machine and weighed so every pack holds what the label says.
Quality flow
From formula to pack
- 1
Formulation
Formulas are developed and tested at lab scale with a dispermat, basket mill and precision scales.
- 2
Batch production
Approved formulas are produced at the plant with raw materials that have already been checked.
- 3
Quality control
A sample of every batch is checked for colour, viscosity, density, gloss and film properties.
- 4
Filling
Only batches that pass are filled, labelled and shipped.
